7 July - What We Can Learn About Success From Those Who Truly Failed (Curious Lessons From The Asylum) with Andrew T. Austin
The statistics for new businesses surviving, let alone succeeding, beyond 5 years from their inception are pretty grim. As a therapist with experience in business and in mental health, Andrew T. Austin has a peculiar fascination for how things going wrong. He has been known to say, "Far too much talk about success comes from a purely theoretical perspective. Too many trainers who talk of success are only really successful in selling an aspirational success to other hopefuls in a never ending pyramid of trainings and workshops. In the real world, failure happens and people suffer, but unlike a training DVD, these problems cannot conveniently be edited out."
Whilst this presentation might not provide any answers, Austin hopes to provide a much needed reality check in a field focused so much on the map, that it often forgets about the territory.
Andrew T. Austin is a therapist, trainer and writer based in W Sussex. He is the author of the best NLP book of the last few years, "The Rainbow Machine - Tales From a Neurolinguist's Journal". Read Sample Chapters Here
“This is the most interesting book about therapy I’ve read since Jay Haley’s Uncommon Therapy.”
—Steve Andreas, author of Six Blind Elephants
.
"Andy Austin's Rainbow Machine will have you laughing, gasping in horror and awe, and wishing like hell that you lived close enough to him to get an appointment. He is the British Milton Erickson."
--Bill O'Hanlon, author of Change 101: A Practical Guide to Creating Change in Life or Therapy
