NLP and Creativity - with Ian Walton
Tuesday 2nd May 2006 at 6.30pm for 7pm at the Manchester Conference Centre, Sackville St, Manchester M1 3BB [directions, pricing, parking information]
In many areas of life, an attitude of questioning the status quo and ‘working out how to think about the problem’ is the foundation of creative thinking, innovation, and collaborative teamworking.
One of the major benefits of NLP is that the techniques help us to continually question and validate our assumptions, beliefs, and frames of reference about our models of the world. In this seminar you’ll be able to hear how the NLP presuppositions, reframing techniques, and language patterns can underpin lateral thinking, and how they can help you to see things from new perspectives.
Maybe you won’t become the next Einstein, but you will be able to use NLP to develop a more creative attitude of mind.
Ian Walton started his career as a research scientist with a PhD from Manchester University in England, and spent the next 25 years working for Unilever in a variety of research, product development, and senior management roles. Ian’s involvement in new product development took him to over 30 countries around the world, including 3 years working in Japan, and the last 7 years working in Thailand.
During his time in Thailand, Ian was the R&D Director responsible for developing new products for Unilever’s Hair Care products throughout Asia – a business with a turnover of over $1 billion. This involved leading multifunctional product development and market research teams, and working in partnership with local company Chairmen and Marketing Directors to define and implement brand development strategies. During his time in Asia, Ian either led, or was member of, Unilever’s global brand marketing teams for Organics, Sunsilk and Clinic.
Ian has now applied his unique insights and experiences of Eastern and Western cultures, and his experience of marketing, innovation, leadership, and coaching of multicultural teams to the challenge of helping people to identify creative solutions to problems. Ian coaches people, and works with companies to help them generate and implement new ideas.
Ian is also a Master Practitioner of NLP and a Member of the International Coach Federation.
